Food Microbiology

Food microbiology mainly focus on food safety. Most of the diseases, pathogens are transmitted through food, which includes virus and bacteria. In this area of Microbiology we study that, bacteria and viruses are eliminated with proper cooking, However some toxins produced by contamination cannot be changed to non-toxic forms by heating or cooking the contaminated food because of some safety conditions. Microorganisms plays a major role in producing fermented foods like bread, curd, cheese, yoghurt, beer and wine.
